As we try to rest, out come 2 dragonborn and 2 kobolds, looking a little crazy. They summoned the Tembo, they think they know the will of The Dragon, and the stone should be his. Dieter rages, but we manage to keep them all alive. 300gp. Longsword, scale, 4*shortswords, 2*leather. Viskill is outside, we join him via the door. Dieter says there’s always been a crazy dragon cult. We free the mind of the soldier Hirnoth, and talk to them… He had been in on the temple stuff, but not okay with killing the priests and stuff. We talk Hirnoth into executing the sorcerer. They had all explored into the temple, but hadn’t found the weapons (they’re supposed to be in the same room as the dragon, who will supposedly awaken when all 12 are taken. One kobold gives us directions: 40-50’ drop, garden swamp, door.
We dig graves for the corpses in the foyer, then sleep there. In the morning, we go onwards, taking the door with us. Rope our way down 50’ cliff. We get to swampy garden, illuminated from opening way way above cliff. Cave in the cliff, plants growing inwards. Among plants, we find a dragon figurine and some moneys. In the cave, a marshy pit, and then Dimplefoot shoots a moving figure. Plant critters: shambling mounds and vine horrors and the like. Quite nasty. We talk to one afterwards, the magic that sustains them is now fading- probably from the cultists.
Onwards, walls more obviously manmade. There’s a guardian, angelic thing: calls us Knights. Viskill asks about spirals: “The life of this planet is what you would call a spiral. This world and faewild, and even shadowfell.” We ask him about Knights… it means many things, one of which is that we’re destined to use these weapons. Viskill asks who made us knights, the answer is an incomprehensible name that hurts our heads. He’s sent here by Kord, because these are weapons, but Bahamut is also involved here. The dragon here is dangerous, maybe just, but not evil. He doesn’t know whom other 7 Knights are, but can give us something to help identify them.
To find out if we’re ready, we submit to a test… Little dragon, 2 kobolds. Ceri gets the kill in this time. They’re constructs/illusions. He gives us (Viskill) a pebble that will assist us in finding fellow knights. We go in: each weapon is named, an unfamiliar script that is nevertheless readable. Glass cases that fade when we reach for them. The huge sleeping dragon is a metallic blue. Dimplefoot rides the dragon, Ceri kicks the tires.
We choose our artifacts, from among the ones there…
